Worship Community is a developing vision for a new church plant model. The WC model begins with the two greatest commandments given directly by Jesus: love God and love others (Mark 12:28-31). From there, the model seeks to develop a passionate love for God through a tight-knit community atmosphere both within the church and the surrounding community.
The next several pages will describe in more detail the specifics of how the Worship Community model is developed scripturally and philosophically. For more practical information on what Worship Community will be like, skip to Worship Community Plan View.
When the goal of loving God and loving others is understood, the love of the believer becomes focused toward three types of persons: to God, to other believers, and to unbelievers. Additionally, there are three avenues in which this love grows: through building relationships, through education, and through action.
Relationships: Learning of the personality and person . . . not just learning about a person, but truly getting to know the person-- getting into their heart to be able to identify with them.
Education: Learning about the person.
Action: The combination of relationship and understanding resulting in a tangible response.
Together, these concepts create the general purpose statement for Worship Community:
Worship Community exists to give glory to God by
The next page explains how building relationships with each type of person through each of these three avenues of growth results in the 9 purposes in WC Life.
The WC model is an ongoing process and will be under development for several years. Check back often to see the growing vision and detailed plans for how the vision will be carried out.
